Recipes
My mom was a good cook, in a solid, midwestern way, and I’ve always prepared some of her favorite recipes. From time to time Farida calls me to ask “how do you make meat loaf?” or “how do you do pot roast?” Here’s her chance to be able to look these up any time she wants.
Juxtaposed to my mom’s simple fare is the cuisine of Abid’s homeland. Although my preparation nowhere equals that of my sisters-in-law, I love curry in all its variations with all its side dishes. Here we’ll share some of those.
These pages will always be a work-in-progress, of course. I’ll add new recipes as they come to mind and as I discover new favorites to add to the list. The next time I prepare the dishes shared here, I will photograph the steps, a la Pioneerwoman.
If you decide to prepare any of these dishes, please let me know how it turns out.
