I’m delighted you’ve decided to visit. Please sit down, stay a while.

Let’s get acquainted. I’ll introduce you to some of my favorite people, places and passions. There’s lots to talk about, and I hope you’ll chime in with your comments.

Escaping from Southern California nearly 20 years ago, I now live in the Sierra Nevada foothills about 30 miles from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park. I share my house with two best friends–Foxy, a terrier (sometimes spelled t-e-r-r-o-r) mix, and Grey Eagle, a 20-year-old feline who believes he owns the house and me.

I’ve been employed at a conference center in Oakhurst for the past ten years, where I’m lucky enough to be assigned the task of coordinating our Exploritas (used to be Elderhostel) and opera programs. It’s a joy to meet the fascinating people who attend our events. On a temporary basis I also work part-time at our local visitors’ bureau, getting to tell people from all over the world where to go and how to get there.

In my spare time my passions include photography, hiking, beading (currently on hiatus from this) and blogging, an extension of my love of writing, which I’ve resurrected with the availability of a bit more free time over the past few months.

Unfortunately multi-tasking doesn’t come easily, so I usually manage to focus on only one at a time. Right now blogging is the hobby of choice, and I thoroughly relish the opportunity to share thoughts, ideas and scenes from my past with you.

My daughter, favorite son-in-law and favorite grandson live close to me, up in the community of Cascadel Woods. My other daughter remains a city dweller in Southern California along with my granddog, and we haven’t managed to persuade them to move up here with us.

Please come back often.
